How does

it work?

Our committed volunteers!

The Dayton Episcopal Food Pantry serves clients on the 3rd and 4th Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Each family may use the pantry one time per month.

Your First Visit

When you arrive at the food pantry, you will take a number and be asked to sign in. If this will be your first visit to the pantry, you will need to bring documentation with you about your family. One of the intake staff volunteers will ask you questions about your family and check your documentation.  You will need to bring a current Photo ID each time you visit the food pantry.

What to Bring

  • A photo ID for ALL adults living in the household

  • Proof of Address for ALL adults living in the household. This can be a current utility bill, bank statment, insurance bill, letter from doctor, school, or MCJFS.

  • Social Security or Medical Card for ALL minor children in the household. (You may substitute SS or Medical Card with any letter from a doctor, school, or a birth certificate)

Please note that we cannot accept any photo copied documentation.

All documents must be original and current. You must bring proof of current address for ALL adults in the household, especially where the photo ID either does not show an address or if the address is different than that of the household in which you currently live.  (Please note: Every year in August, you will be asked to bring all documentation again to reverify your information.)

Your intake staff volunteer might ask questions such as, if you are a veteran, your marital status, your primary source of income, and if you receive food stamps. This information is gathered so that we can better know the current situations of the families we serve in our communities. The information gathered, in no way, determines the amount of food you will receive. Sharing this information with us will help us get to know our client's, identify any hardship issues, and help us to prepare to apply for grants to be used for our pantry.

By following these guidelines, your visit will be less time-consuming. Remember, every volunteer is here to help you and your family, and we welcome your questions and comments.
